PCD: Steps to Recovery

PCD is nothing to laugh about. It can ruin your Christmas break. It can crash your Christmas day. In fact, it can demolish your whole holiday season if it's not controlled.

Post-Christmas Depression.

People, I have PCD. And I know for a FACT that I am not the only one who suffers from this condition. It's so bad, in fact, that I start dreading the end of the Christmas season before it even starts. Here are some signs that you, too, may be suffering from PCD:
  • You begin celebrating Christmas the day after Halloween, in order to make the most out of every single day of the holiday season.
  • You don't like the countdown to Christmas, because it reminds you of just how close you are to it being over.
  • You actually find yourself dreading Christmas Day, because then it's all over.
  • The week following Christmas finds you moping around the house, trying desperately to revisit Christmas through holiday specials on television...the ones you DVRed, because they aren't actually on TV anymore.
  • My personal favorite: You look at Christmas decorations on sale in stores like an ex-boyfriend...you want nothing to do with them because it's like seeing a good thing go cheap and easily available.
I have been suffering all week, just knowing that my Christmas vacation is almost over. TWO DAYS left. That's IT. It's completely unfair that it went by so quickly. I try to remind myself that we still have New Year's to celebrate, but it just doesn't help at all because we have school on the 2nd, and I have my LESSON PLANS that I need to write.

So to summarize, I am trying desperately to cope with my PCD. This means, I will still be listening to Christmas music in my car. My tree will stay up till New Year's at least. I will watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation ONE MORE TIME. And I will still eat like it's the holidays, because Weight Watchers will begin on January 2nd.

Merry Christmas, Friends:) Do all of us PCD sufferers a favor and celebrate till Sunday.

Oh, and enjoy my favorite picture of Christmas Day.
